John Corley Stained Glass
BRANDING, STATIONERY DESIGN
John Corley is a stained glass artist and accredited conservator and restorer, based in Deal, Kent. As well as designing and producing unique, commissioned works for historical and ecclesiastical buildings and private clientele, John’s studio provides an extensive range of highly-skilled stained glass conservation and maintenance services.
John and his wife, Heather, approached us to refresh the identity of their well-established stained glass studio, develop and deliver a set of simple brand guidelines, and then apply the new brand style across various stationery items (business card, letterhead and comp slip).
John and Heather immediately chose this identity concept from the six ideas we presented to them. The studio’s existing blue colour palette has been brightened for a fresher, more contemporary feel, and the specially-created ‘wash’ graphic that holds John’s name, has a fluidity and transparency reminiscent of stained glass.
“We were delighted with the final design Howell and Hicks produced for our stained glass business logo. By using influences of overlaid precious, coloured glass they developed a sympathetic design expressing the feel of the raw material we use every day in the studio.”
